Everybody Is Going To Die - The Boon Companions
Project description: Everybody Is Going To Die
The Boon Companions
Bakehouse Studios, New Year's Eve 2017
A night of performance, art, music, drinking and dancing, Everybody Is Going To Die was a unique immersive theatre party whereby 160 revellers were 'born' upon entry and 'died' at midnight - only to start their 2017 utterly renewed.
Featuring a secret cast of 40+ artists and 11 rooms depicting various stages of the life cycle, Everybody Is Going To Die was a chance for reflection, for letting go, and moving on - all within the guise of just being a fucking good party in a perfect venue with dancing and champagne.
My role: Production Manager
I worked to tight deadlines to coordinate 40+ artists, organise the bar and bar staff, arrange alcohol sponsorships, and work with the Boon Companions team and venue staff to deliver an immersive, interactive and slightly wild New Year's Eve party.
I was the artists' first point of contact, collecting and organising information about each artist's technical requirements and staffing needs and communicating key information to them. I also created and maintained run sheets, budgets and a volunteer roster, and collated artist and supplier invoices.
I assisted with bump in/out, sourced materials and equipment, provided direct assistance to two roving performers with sets in six spaces across the venue, and provided other volunteers, bar staff and audience with assistance throughout the night.
I continue to work with the Boon Companions in 2017.
